Meet the Team Behind Plastics Technology Media
Ryan Delahanty is Group Publisher at Gardner Business Media, a B2B media company serving the durable goods manufacturing markets, where he has helped connect technology buyers and technology sellers for nearly two decades. In this role, Ryan leads the editorial, marketing and sales teams of the Advanced Materials and Processing Group and its media channels, which includes: CompositesWorld, Plastics Technology and MoldMaking Technology. One of the aspects of this work that he enjoys the most is visiting suppliers to learn about their manufacturing technology and helping them leverage their brands and value propositions with Gardner’s engaged buying audiences. Ryan received his bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. He lives in suburban Chicago with his wife, two children and a dog.
Jim Callari is the editorial director of Plastics Technology magazine. Jim has been in plastics journalism since 1988, when he joined the staff of Plastics World Magazine as senior editor. Jim joined Plastics Technology in 1997 as executive editor, and became editorial director in 2009. In addition to being responsible for the overall editorial strategy of the magazine, Jim enjoys reporting on extrusion technology. He is a long-time member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and currently serves on the board of directors for SPE’s Extrusion Division. He is also a member of the content committee for NPE2021. Jim was inducted into the Plastics Pioneers Association in 2012. In 1989, Jim received the Jesse H. Neal Editorial Achievement Award, considered the Pulitzer Prize of business journalism, from the Association of Business Publishers. PRESS KIT
Tony Deligio is an executive editor with Plastics Technology magazine. Tony has been covering the global plastics processing industry since 2000, visiting processors and suppliers in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Tony previously covered the plastics processing industry at Injection Molding Magazine, Modern Plastics, Plastics Machinery & Auxiliaries and PlasticsToday. He is a graduate of Colorado State University (Fort Collins, Colo.) with a degree in technical journalism.
Matt Naitove is Executive Editor of Plastics Technology magazine, where he has reported on virtually every aspect of plastics since 1972. Matt started at PT as a cub reporter fresh out of school and rose through the ranks to Chief Editor, a position he held for 29 years. His current beats on the magazine include reporting on all aspects of injection molding and blow molding technology. He has helped organize numerous conferences, including Plastics Technology’s annual Molding Conference and exhibit and two Thermoplastic Composites in Automotive conferences in 2014 and 2016. Matt is a graduate of Harvard College and holds a masters degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Lilli Sherman is a senior editor of Plastics Technology Magazine. Lilli started with PT in 1987, and has reported on ever-evolving materials and additive technologies. She also is responsible for PT’s resin pricing column.
Other interesting topics she regularly covers include advances in biopolymers, thermoplastic composites as well as testing & measurement, decorating & printing, and welding technologies. She also enjoys being a regular blogger on interesting technologies and studies that emerge in the news beats she covers.
For the last five years, Lilli has been invited to serve as a participating judge in the annual Blue Ribbon Automotive Awards by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Automotive Division.
She has also served as moderator in sessions of PT’s Extrusion and Molding conferences and one on Thermoplastic Composites, which included recruiting appropriate speakers from materials and additives companies.
Lilli also attends and reports on, among other events, on the annual SPE International Polyolefins conference and the IHS Markit Global Plastics Summit (GPS).
She is a graduate of Hofstra University (Hempstead, N.Y.) and the University of Bridgeport (Bridgeport, CT), and has attended several writing courses at the University of Connecticut.
Sarah is the digital editor for Products Finishing and Plastics Technology, managing social media pages and other digital projects. As a former editor in Dayton, Ohio, Sarah comes to Gardner in 2021 with an eagerness to learn the industry. Sarah holds a B.A. in Communications/Media Studies from Wright State University.
Matt Stonecash started with Plastics Technology in 2022. After 12 years as an engineer in the medical device industry and healthcare environments, Matt began writing freelance in 2020. He has degrees in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, and professional writing.
